There are seeds to plant
To love the world is to plant seeds.
To love each other is to share what grows.
To love the world is to protect all that is left of Earth’s creations.
To imagine a future. To imagine without paucity.
To love the world is to eradicate notions of sustainability. What, really, are we doing that is worth sustaining?
So, plant seeds. Seeds that the land around you longs to nurture.
Love what grows and love what withers.
Recognize that we are planting seeds into an exhausted planet who longs to be loved by us. Who loves us. Holds us as we flail around like a toddler 2 hours past their bedtime. Absorbs our transgressions and offers us Goldenrod and daffodils.
We are loved despite what we have done. We must plant despite what we are doing.
To love the world is to come to her with offerings. With seeds.
